Student Groups

Helping you to find your people is one of our core aims at the Guild. One of the most popular opportunities that we offer is to join one of our student groups. There are a few different types, depending on what interests you:

  • Societies – these are groups of students who share an interest in something like culture, hobbies, or identities
  • Sports Clubs – these are teams that offer social sport opportunities or participate in sports competitions against other teams
  • School communities – these are for students studying in the same academic area who want to meet one-another
  • Liberation campaigns – these are just for students with a particular identity who want to meet others with similar life experiences

Starting your own Group

If you’re interested in taking on a leadership role within a student group, we’d love to hear from you. Every year, the Guild supports a number of students wanting to make their own group – we can help with training, advice, and getting started. Before you start your group, you’ll need to make sure that it’s different from the others listed on this page, and that you have two current students who will be the President and the Treasurer for the group.

To find out more about starting your own group, please get in touch with the Communities Team, society.support@ucbguild.co.uk. Or, if you’re ready to express your interest, just fill in this form.
